AECOM's Middle East Rail team are currently seeking a Technical Director of Architecture, with a portfolio of built work in metro's and rail to join our team in the Dubai office.

The Technical Director of Architecture will be an advocate for design excellence within the office through an integrated and collaborative approach. The Design Leader consistently exhibits and demonstrates a commitment to AECOMs core values Collaboration, Creativity, Community, Integrity and the Environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for key design input at early design phases and for general design leadership during the course of the project
  • Ensuring Safety in Design principles are applied throughout all design stages of a project
  • Oversees the assigned team of Architects and Technicians to ensure that design excellence is achieved throughout
  • Applies advanced knowledge to develop design procedures and tools to facilitate the completion of high quality, cost effective projects
  • Understands and implements project management principles and able to work within project budgets which includes fees and designing to clients budget
  • Participates in pro-active coordination with internal and external design disciplines to achieve a high-quality consistent set of presentation or design documents as per Client requirements and Industry standards
  • Leads the preparation of the architectural design for all stages in accordance with the Initial Project Brief and Design Programme)
  • Directs, reviews, and coordinates the technical design deliverables of the project team

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 15 years experience in transit / rail and metros
  • Proven related professional experience in an Architectural Practice particularly with Rail assets
  • Experience of working on large scale projects including site experience particularly with Rail assets
