About This Role
We are looking for a Sustaining Engineer to join our team in Dubai, UAE. This role will report to the Product Engineering & Deliver Manager.
What You Will Do:
- Evaluate designs for optimal design for manufacturability, cost, quality and reliability
- Supply technical support for quality or manufacturing issues
- Identify manufacturing technologies from industry best practices
- Support the selection and validation of replacement materials, such as polymers, metals, and adhesives
- Write and revise assembly procedures and work instructions for manufacturing, and provide the oversight to implement
- Manufacturing record documentation
- Contribute to the conception, estimation and scoping of new projects
- Produce Manufacturing Record packs including
- Review and recommend Subcontract/Sub-vendor quotes
- Travel both nationally and internationally as required by company
What You Will Need To Succeed:
- Higher education in Engineering or relevant subject. Long experience can compensate for lack of a theoretical education
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience
- Experienced in product development
- Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
- Proficient in 3D modelling software
- Proficient in engineering drawing
- Proficient user of Product Data Management software
- Proficient knowledge of relevant national and international standards including API, CE, UKCA, ATEX, NORSOK
- Accurate, systematic and have a good sense of order
- Good knowledge of IT tools and systems within area of responsibility
- Good knowledge of English, both written and oral, including excellent presentation skills
