Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • In addition to being the primary analyst for a small group of high-profile Sovereign Credits; the sector leads exercise oversight of the overall portfolio of credits on their region and are responsible to ensure that the global credit view is incorporated in our ratings with accuracy and in a consistent manner.
  • Be a regular external speaker and the key point of contact for outreach and to carry the S&P message to the market, ensuring relevance and timelines.
  • Develop key topics on research publications, identifying with a forward and insightful mindset trends and market dynamics that will have an impact in our ratings.
  • Be a key member of the ratings surveillance process, covering the roles of primary analyst, back up, voter and/or chair for the practice committees globally.
  • Be an active and key member of the Global Sovereign AOCC as well as the regional CCCs and ensure the flow of information in and out of the practice works smoothly and effectively.
  • Commitment to cross practice collaboration as well as participation in several, research labs, forums and research task forces to produce the highest level of analysis.
  • Support, coach and train more junior analyst in the practice helping them to build the right set of skills and capabilities needed.

What Were Looking For:

  • Ideally hold a post-graduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject such as economics, finance, or equivalent experience.
  • An employee here at S&P Global would typically have 10+ years of hands-on analytical experience in a relevant financial institution, or a credit/research environment ideally analysing sovereign governments at this level.
  • Proactive with ability to manage multiple tasks and a busy environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • The successful incumbent will be fluent in English. Additional languages would be desirable but are not a prerequisite.
